Merry-Go-Round welcomes meteorologists

February 1, 2012HOLYOKE — February is a great month to bring the kids of all ages to the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round!
On Feb. 4, all the local meteorologists are invited to the Merry-Go-Round for a free ride as for the celebration of “Weather Person’s Day.” All local weather men and weather woman will receive a free ride, and of course, there will have some fun activity sheets all about the weather.
The winner from the Groundhog Day contest will also be announced.
Feb. 5 is of course Super Bowl Sunday and Merry-Go-Round personnel hope that the Patriots are in Indianapolis that day! But no matter what, come in wearing apparel from either team and receive a half-price ride.
Feb. 11 and 12 is the Merry-Go-Round’s annual “Sweetheart” weekend. Riders are invited to bring their sweetie in and when they purchase a full price ticket, their sweetie will ride for half-price. Riders can even make a Valentine’s Day card.
The Holyoke Merry-Go-Round will be open for the February school vacation week. In addition to Saturday and Sunday hours of noon to 4 p.m., the Merry-Go-Round will be open from Feb. 20 to 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And since Feb. 21 is Fat Tuesday, the first 200 people to purchase a full price ride will receive a free set of Mardi Gras beads to kick off Mardi Gras!
On Feb. 25, the Merry-Go-Round will celebrate all those Leap Year babies with a half-price ride. So if your birthday is Feb. 29, you get a half-price ride.
Feb. 26 is the Daytona 500 and those who come in wearing a driver’s number will receive a half-price ride.
