Odyssey Bookshop to host family-friendly events in August

SOUTH HADLEY — The Odyssey Bookshop, 9 College St., will host a variety of kid and family-friendly events throughout August. The following events will take place inside The Odyssey Bookshop in case of rain.
  • Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. — Ellen Erwin, “Sky Dancing.”

    Children’s Storytime will feature Erwin reading from her new book “Sky Dancing.” This storytime is for children ages 3 to 6 years and is located in the children’s department of the Odyssey.

  • Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. — Camp Workman.

    Origami & Paper Airplanes — How many things can people do with just a piece of paper? Ages 10 to 14 are welcome. Please call and reserve a spot, preferably three days in advance.

  • Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m. — Family Entertainment Series.

    Tom Ricardi & the Birds of Prey — On the Village Common, weather permitting. Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

  • Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. — Camp Workman.

    Wacky Science — Try a hand at some strange experiments. Ages 10 to 14 are welcome. Please call and reserve a spot, preferably three days in advance.

  • Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. — Family Entertainment Series.

    Onawumi Jean Moss: The Soulful Storyteller — On the Village Common, weather permitting. Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

  • Aug. 20 at 10:30 a.m. — Family Entertainment Series.

    Bill Ross “Book’em” — On the Village Common, weather permitting. Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

  • Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. — Family Entertainment Series.

    Blue Sky Mind with Tracy Vernon — On the Village Common, weather permitting. Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
