Date: 5/17/2010

WILBRAHAM The Parent-Connect Education Series will be hosting the following workshops at Kids Village Media Center, located at 35 Post Office Park, from 6 to 8 p.m.

On May 19, learn about "Men in the Lives of Children." This panel of fathers led by child and family therapist Dr. Rob Robinson will discuss the important role that fathers play in the lives of their children. They will explore the tools necessary to maintain healthy relationships and build loving interactions with children from the time they are born to adulthood. This workshop is an interactive give and take of information and ideas and will support the important role of the father.

On May 26, be a part of "Ready to Learn." Summer is around the corner and children continue to learn. This workshop will cover what parents need to know about child development, the importance of learning experiences that parents provide for their children from birth and what parents can do to keep children learning even when school is out. Fun, hands on activities will give parents ideas for the summer.

All Parent-Connect workshops are $5 per person and will include childcare, pizza and fun! Register for one or all of the workshops by calling 583-3527 or e-mailing c_milner@ludlowps.org.

Parent-Connect is funded in part by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Childcare is provided by staff from the Scantic Valley YMCA Child Development Center and the location is donated by Pediatric Services.
