Peoplelink: Exchange students

Peoplelink: Exchange students to experience life in Western Mass.

Chinese, Japanese children will stay with host families

Groups of middle and high school age Chinese and Japanese exchange students are coming to Western Massachusetts this summer through a non profit organization called Peoplelink. Peoplelink focuses on home stay programs which provide each participant with total immersion in a culture and language different from his/her own.

The students will be coming from mid July through mid August and will stay for one, two, or three week periods with area host families. Peoplelink has arranged for the students to participate in language lessons and sight seeing trips from 9am -4pm Monday through Friday. The pick up and drop off for the day activities will be a location in the Cathedral High School neighborhood.

Outside of the organized activities, exchange students wish to fully participate in the life and activities of their host families; whether it is helping to cook dinner, going to a little league game, or grocery shopping. Host families must consist of two or more related people living in the same household who are willing to open their homes to a student for a period of time.
