Date: 6/7/2010

GREATER SPRINGFIELD Sarah Prall Photography in Belchertown is hosting a three-day portrait event to benefit the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society. Participants will receive a professional portrait session and complimentary 5x7 print of their dog for a suggested donation of $50 to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society or an in-kind donation of wish list items of comparable value.

Sarah Prall is an award-winning photojournalist and sought-after portrait artist. After receiving her degree in photojournalism from San Francisco State University, Prall began her career as a war photographer in South Africa. Her travels have included covering stories throughout Africa, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico, as well as throughout the continental U.S. Prall now specializes in creating custom heirloom artwork of families using a natural, evocative and documentary style.

"What better way to celebrate the joy the canine members of our family bring us than by doing something to help an organization that helps so many animals and people," Prall said. "Last year's event was so successful and the community's response so wonderful I couldn't wait to do it again this year!"

The event is scheduled for June 10, 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sittings are by appointment only. Because this is an outdoor photographic event, it will be limited to dogs only. To schedule, please call Sarah Prall Photography at 835-1578 or visit www.sarahprall.com. More information is also available at www.dpvhs.org.
