Pink to be honored as new Episcopal bishop

SPRINGFIELD The Board of Bishops of the National Fellowship Council of Churches Worldwide Inc. (NFCC) has announced that a service of Episcopal Consecration and appointment to the Bishopric shall be confirmed upon Bishop-Elect Charles W. Pink II.

The Consecration will take place March 8 at noon at Evangelical Covenant Church, 915 Plumtree Rd., Springfield. Prelates, bishops, ordained clergy, evangelists and ministers along with local politicians and dignitaries have been invited to attend this most sacred service. The Episcopal Consecration will be followed by an Episcopal Ball (of which tickets are available) taking place at Chez Josef, 176 Shoemaker Ln., Agawam at 6 p.m.

Pink is the founder and senior pastor of New Creation Discipleship Ministries in Springfield. Under his direct leadership the church was able to purchase the property at 893 Boston Rd.

The opening of New Creation Child Care Center, which operates at 893 Boston Rd. in Springfield, is the direct result of the efforts of Bishop-Elect Pink.

Pink has also become a familiar figure with local as well as state government officials because of his involvement in the community. He has received a number of certificates and awards and has also been featured in several newspapers.
