Date: 3/2/2011

SPRINGFIELD — The Preschool Enrichment Team is hosting its 31st annual conference for early education and out of school time educators on March 11 from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel.

More than 300 educators from across the state will gather to sharpen their skills on a variety of topics related to children's development and learning.

The day begins with keynote Kim Storey, Ed.D., an expert on bullying prevention, presenting, "Eyes on Bullying: What can YOU do?"

Storey will also lead a workshop that will help educators learn how to create early childhood environments that promote empathy and social problem solving and prevent aggressive behaviors and bullying.

Competent teachers who can provide learning experiences and interactions that take place in high quality early learning programs literally change the architecture of the child's brain, providing a stronger foundation for success in school and in life.

A $95 fee includes morning refreshment, keynote, lunch, workshops, conference materials, vendor area, training certificate and 0.5 continuing education units..
