Puzzle of Parenting free workshops to conclude this May

Date: 4/17/2014

NORTHAMPTON – The Puzzle of Parenting, a free workshop series designed for parents, grandparents and guardians of children from birth to kindergarten age concludes its 2013-2014 schedule with “Positive Solutions for Families” at the Spring Street Preschool, 64 Spring St., Amherst, on Wednesday evenings May 7 to 28.

This free four-session workshop for parents of children ages 3 to 5 years will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and offers an opportunity for parents to explore their children’s social and emotional development and learn to nurture that development by connecting with their children through play, communication, relationship building, and healthy limit setting. A light supper and childcare will be offered free at each session.

There is no charge for the workshops, but advance registration for adults and children is required. To get the most out of the workshop, parents should plan to attend all four sessions.

For more information and registration, call 570-3061 or email earlychildhood@collaborative.org.

The Puzzle of Parenting workshops will resume again in the fall of 2014 with the 2014-2015 parent workshop series, with free childcare available at most locations. Families are always welcome to attend as many workshops as they wish, in any community. More information and a complete schedule of the 2014-2015 series will be posted online over the summer at: collaborative.org/early-childhood/parents.

The Puzzle of Parenting free workshop series is sponsored by the Early Childhood Department of the Collaborative for Educational Services, and funded by a Coordinated Family and Community Engagement grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
