Randall's Farm to host October scarecrow contest

LUDLOW -- Randall's Farm is hosting its annual scarecrow contest Oct. 16 and 17, with over $2,000 in prizes.

There are two entry classess individuals and/or families and groups. Randall's will offer a charity match for winners judged in three categories.

There will also be popular vote judging of both classes in three categories best, with a $100 prize; most original, with a $50 prize and scariest, with a $50 prize.

There is no entry fee. All entries must be of a traditional style with one head, two arms and two legs and must be a maximum of 72 inches tall and 48 inches wide.

Entries will be classified either individual or family or group. There are no age lmits or age groupings.

All entries must be received in the greenhouse by 4 p.m. on Oct. 16. The popular vote will take place between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Oct. 17; panel judging will also take place that day.

All winners will be announced on Oct. 20.
