Rollers and bladers will skate for Japan at Interskate 91

Date: 4/11/2011

WILBRAHAM — Both Interskate 91 facilities in Wilbraham and Hadley will host a special skating session April 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. to benefit Japanese relief efforts.

Japan has said it will cost as much as 25 trillion yen or $309 billion to rebuild the country after the deadly earthquake and tsunami.

The devastation has been described as the country's biggest crisis since the end of World War II.

"We know Roller Skating Rocks, now let's show Roller Skating Cares," Kevin Baker of Interskate 91 South, said.

Rolling for Relief is a fund-raising event where 100 percent of admissions will be donated to the American Red Cross, designated for Japanese relief efforts.

Admission is $5 per person and skate rental is available if needed.

All members of the public are invited to attend and are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the world while doing something they already enjoy.
