St. George Ladies Society hosting tweens author Deb Dunham

SPRINGFIELD On May 2 from 1 to 3 p.m., the St. George Ladies Society annual "Table Top Social" will be hosting the author of "Tween You and Me: A Preteen Guide to Becoming Your Best Self," a book for pre-teens and their parents to guide them through those often difficult years.

The author, Deb Dunham, will provide insight and strategies on how tweens can recognize their inner strength and become the extraordinary people they are meant to be. She'll touch on the issues of building self-esteem and self-worth, as well as other social issues facing parents, schools, kids and society today, such as bullying.

This is a great event for caregivers and kids ages seven to 15. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids eight and under and can be purchased by calling Mary Ann Pappas at 736-5284 or Susan Alvanos at 789-0157. The event is open to the public, and will take place at the St. George Cathedral Greek Cultural Center, 22 St. George Rd., Springfield. Light refreshments and Greek pastries will be served, and all proceeds will benefit the St. George Philoptochos Ladies Scholarship Fund.
