Swimming lessons offered at Central

SPRINGFIELD -- The Springfield Department of Parks, Building and Recreation Management is excited to offer Learn-to-Swim programs in two sessions this summer for adults and children.

Lessons are offered at Central High School on Roosevelt Avenue.

The department is committed to providing innovative programs and learning experiences for participants.

The Learn-to-Swim program is being offered to children ages five to 15 years, as well as adults ages 16 and older.

The next session, Session II, will take place from Aug. 2 to 12.

Each class is one hour long, and sessions are two weeks, Monday through Thursday.

Times for these classes are children's beginner level, 8 to 9 a.m.; children's intermediate level, 9 to 10 a.m.; children's advanced level, 10 to 11 a.m.; and adults from 11 a.m. to noon.

There is a fee of $50, cash only, for each session.

On-site registrations will also be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
