Trolley Museum announces pair of Halloween events

EAST WINDSOR, CONN. — The Connecticut Trolley Museum, 58 North Road, is having two events for families this Halloween season.

Pumpkin Patch is a family fun filled day beginning with a trolley ride out to the “patch” where each child will pick out their own pumpkin. Hop back on board the trolley to the Visitors Center where tables are set up so children can decorate their pumpkins, maybe have their face painted and get a temporary tattoo.

On the front lawn for both adults and children there will be hula hoops, bean bag toss and bubble tables. On Oct. 30 only, children coming in costume get half price admission. Pumpkin Patch is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Monday, Columbus Day, beginning Oct. 7 though 30.

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for kids ages 2 to 12 and $3 for children younger than 2.

Rails to the Darkside is for those who like to be scared half to death. Ride the trolley into the dark, haunted country side and see what happens when the trolley stops out in the middle of no where.

Quoting one of the guests from last year, “We just got home from experiencing Rails to the Darkside and I have to tell you it was, by far, the best scary trolley ride/haunted house we have ever seen! The volunteers were perfectly terrifying. I’m a 48-year-old woman and I was holding onto my 12-year-old daughter for protection. Inside all the scary people were so scary. They just showed up over our shoulders and followed us around and lingered and it was so creepy. From now on no Halloween attraction is going to be able to hold a candle to yours. Thank you for scaring the stuffing out of all of us!”

Rails to the Darkside is open Friday and Saturdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and is geared toward older children and adults. Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for those younger than 12.
