AGAWAM The Agawam Public Library is pleased to have Carl Beane, "The Voice of Fenway Park" as he will display his fascinating collection of sports memorabilia in the double glass cases for the month of January.

There will be hockey sticks from Gordie Howe, Patrick Roy, Bobby Orr and others given to Beane by the players themselves.

From his collection of baseball items, there will be caps from Manny Ramirez, Dice-K, Dustin Pedroia, Cal Ripkin Jr., Ted Williams (when he managed the Washington Senators, and Derek Jeter. These were given to him by the players also.

David Ortiz "Big Papi" gave him his uniform pants. Bats from Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Yaz, George Scott, Don Mattingly, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth and Wade Boggs were either given to him or purchased.

Don't miss seeing a game used football from the "snow bowl" Patriots versus Raiders in 2002, basketball shoes from Antoine Walker and Shaq.

Plus added attractions will be papers and memorabilia from Beane's first years as PA Announcer and the 2004 and 2007 World Series.

Beane is a native of Agawam now residing in Holland, Mass. He has been in the radio broadcasting profession since 1972.

Presently, Beane is an independent contractor with ESPN Radio, WBZ, in Boston, WFAN in NYC, Sirius NFL Radio Satellite Network, and the Mighty 1090 in San Diego, Calif., all utilizing his services as a field reporter.
