Westfield Anthenaeum to host Dan Kane Singers benefit concert

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Athenaeum, 6 Elm St., will present The Dan Kane Singers for a special Valentine's Benefit Concert.

Two magical nights, Feb. 15 and 16, will feature a romantic show highlighting some of the greatest love songs ever recorded. The Valentine's Gala will includes chocolates and flowers, wine and an assortment of fruit and cheeses.

The performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Lang Auditorium. Tickets are $25 and are on sale now at the main desk at the Athenaeum. Proceeds from each of the concerts will benefit the Athenaeum.

The Dan Kane Singers are a well-known and much loved part of the musical scene in Western Massachusetts. Through the years Kane's exceptional playing abilities (keyboard, piano and organ) have allowed him to record on more than 50 CDs with countless talented singers and musicians.

He has hosted his own radio show spotlighting local talent (sponsored by the Hannoush Family Jewelers). His annual Summer Singing Program for 160 Children is ranked number one in Western Massachusetts, and has often been credited as a starting point for many local talented young singers headed for stardom. He has been the organist at St. Patrick's Church in Springfield for 30 years with his father, Jim Kane.
