Local nurse graduates inducted into Beta Zeta Honor societyDate: 5/30/2010 GREATER SPRINGFIELD Induction of new members and officers of the Beta Zeta at Large chapter, Honor Society for Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International took place May 1 at American International College (AIC) in Springfield. Cynthia Jacelon RN, PhD, CCRN-A (of Greenfield) welcomed new inductees, friends and family of the inductees and chapter members. The keynote address was given by Anna Paskausky RN, BA, BS (of Northampton) who provided insight to inductees about her experiences as novice Beta Zeta at Large member.
A total of 102 inductees included undergraduates, graduate, RN to BSN, second bachelor's, doctors of nursing practice and nurse leaders. The Beta Zeta at Large chapter is comprised of nursing programs at University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), Our Lady of the Elms College and AIC. Counselors are Sheila Rucki PhD, PCNS, BC representing AIC, Laurie Downes PhD, RN representing Elms; and Kim Dion MSN, RN, CNE representing UMass coordinated the induction process, hosted orientation meetings for new inductees and the induction service.
Installation of new officers included President Karen Rousseau, RN, MSN (of Chicopee) and Counselor for UMass Karen Plotkin RN, PhD (of South Deerfield).
