Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to host kickoff event at Stanley ParkDate: 7/31/2014 WESTFIELD – The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Pioneer Valley is inviting residents of the Pioneer Valley to its kickoff event from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Aug. 20 at Stanley Park’s Beveridge Pavilion.
The informational meeting for team captains, participants, breast cancer survivors and prospective volunteers includes complimentary food. The second annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Pioneer Valley walk is scheduled for Oct. 5 at Stanley Park. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer and save lives. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting more than 300 communities to finish the fight. Money raised helps the American Cancer Society fight the disease with research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them. An RSVP is required.
