Dancers from Mary Ann Studio of Dance held their recital in June and performed in Forest Park for the Spirit of Springfield in July.

All year long the students at the Mary Ann Studio of Dance had been having such fun, marching in parades (like the Agawam Memorial Day and Springfield Big Balloon Parade), dancing to help charities (like the American Heart Association and the Springfield Boys & Girls Club), dancing to entertain shut ins (at nursing homes and senior centers), and simply just having fun, sharing their love of dance with so many others.
In June, the regular dance season ended with a bang. For the students, it had been a fun-filled year helping Mary Ann celebrate her 50th season. The students did their best, arriving on stage with their biggest smiles ever and performed their very best to make Mary Ann's 50th recital season the best one yet.
But the recital weekend itself, saw many added surprises. The studio staff had been working on some secrets of their own, presenting Mary Ann with an assortment of gifts to help her remember this very special 50th year and the many students that have walked through her doors. Also stepping out on stage were former teachers who put their dancing shoes on once again to perform with the current teaching staff, proving that we really are one big family.
The dust had barely settled from such a wonderfully fun recital season, and already the Mary Ann dancers were out performing, this time at Forest Park, in mid-July for the Spirit of Springfield, as part of the preview show for the 'Time Out For Movies' night. The dancers showed off their happy dancing feet doing tap and jazz routines. At the end of the dance performance, children from the audience were invited down to mingle with the dancers and learn a few happy tapping steps themselves. Oh, and the movie that night? "Happy Feet," of course.
The summer workshop at the studio was a success. A time for dancers to keep on dancing throughout the summer, and also a great time for new students to give dancing a try. The summer workshop dancers will close out their summer by presenting a performance at the studio for the enjoyment of their friends and family.
And then, in a blink of an eye, it's time for the new dance year to begin. At the Mary Ann Studio of Dance, classes are available to all ages, from two to teen and adults. Along with the regular classroom dance studies, there will again be lots of fun outside of the classroom.let's not forget those parades and performance opportunities that are enjoyed by all of our students every year.
Have you ever wanted to do a little dancing? Now's the time to give us a call (782-4600) and get registered. Classes will begin in September.
