Speaker will address problem of 'explosive' children
SPRINGFIELD Ross W. Greene, Ph.D, director of the Collaborative Problem Solving Institute in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital will be the featured speaker Nov. 4 at the Sheraton in Springfield from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The presentation is part of the Professional Development Series sponsored by American International College.
Greene specializes in the treatment of explosive, inflexible, easily frustrated children and adolescents and is the author of The Explosive Child and co-author of Treating Explosive Kids: The Collaborative Problem Solving Approach. He is also Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
One of the leading experts in collaborative problem-solving, Greene will reveal his research and teach about why conventional reward and punishment methods may not work with non-compliant children and adolescents, and help
teach how to implement collaborative problem-solving approaches to reduce outbursts.
