Chamber Music Society announces 24th season

LONGMEADOW The Longmeadow Chamber Music Society is pleased to announce its 24th season fall concert on The program will also honor milestone birthday celebrations of two composers: Mozart's 250th and Dmitri Shostakovich's 100th. The featured works by these two composers are the Quartet for oboe, violin, viola, and cello K. 370 by Mozart and Duets for two violins and piano by Shostakovich. Also on the program will be the Petite Suite for oboe and cello by British composer, Lennox Berkeley, the Phantasy for oboe, violin, viola, and cello by Benjamin Britten, and the Andante cantabile movement from the Quartet for piano and strings op. 47 by Robert Schumann.

The concert will include words about the composers and the pieces and will be followed by a reception. Donations of $10 will be accepted at the door for non-members. Family donations of $50 ($25 single) will provide admission to all 3 concerts of this season.

The Longmeadow Chamber Music Society is a volunteer, non-profit organization sponsored in part by generous donations from Health New England, the Longmeadow Cultural Council, are businesses, and loyal patrons.
