Concert gives 'Songs for Seats'

Rotary fund-raiser will bring high school closer to auditorium renovation goal.



LONGMEADOW The Longmeadow Rotary Club will host a concert on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Longmeadow High School as a benefit for their Songs for Seats fund-raiser.

Mike Barnett, a Longmeadow High School student who is a fiddle player, will perform with his Bluegrass band.

Barnett has performed with the Grand Ole Oprey as well as around the country. The evening will be hosted by Brian Lapis, Channel 22 meteorologist.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and can be purchased at the following locations: Brightwood Hardware, Longmeadow; Longmeadow High School music department; Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Department; and Longmeadow High School auditorium.

The Songs for Seats fund-raiser is one of Longmeadow Rotary's many service projects. This project's priority is to provide a top quality performance and viewing environment for Longmeadow students through the renovation of the seats in the Longmeadow High School auditorium.

Longmeadow Rotary meets weekly on Friday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at the Glenmeadow Retirement Community.
