LONGMEADOW Longmeadow High School student, Alissa Mariano, has qualified for the 38th Annual United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Pony Championship. Alissa and her pony, "Tristan's Dawn Treader," a Welsh Thoroughbred-cross fondly known as "Lewis", have qualified for both the Regular Hunter Pony Championship and the USEF Pony Medal Equitation Class. This year the event will take place at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY from Aug. 10 -14. Mariano has been riding for 10 years at the Shallowbrook Equestrian Center in Somers, Conn. Her trainer is Hanson Keene of Milford, Conn.
