Annual Advent Craft Fair slated for Dec. 2

SOUTH HADLEY The annual Advent Craft Fair will take place Dec. 2 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, South Hadley, opposite the town common, junction of routes #47 and #116.

Thirty local talented crafters will present handcrafted creations ranging from silver and gemstone jewelry, quilts, seasonal decorations, original artwork, photographs, ceramics, hand-painted note cards, birdhouses, jewelry boxes and other unique wood items, furniture, scarves, dolls, fleece items. honey, candles, soap, puzzles, herbal mixes, jelly, gourmet dog biscuits, etc.

The Fair coincides with the annual town holiday festivities on Friday evening on the Common which includes a visit from Santa, tree lighting, etc. A light supper on the evening of Dec. 2 and a soup and sandwich lunch on Dec. 3 will be available at the church. Homemade cookies donated by the local community will also be on sale to benefit the South Hadley Council on Aging holiday food baskets for the elderly.

Free admission and the church is handicap accessible.

The annual Homemade Holiday Cookie Sale will be hosted Dec. 2 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Congregational Church, South Hadley, opposite the town common, junction of routs #47 and #116.

Money raised from the cookie sale goes to the South Hadley Council on Aging for holiday food baskets for the elderly. Since this is a community effort, we have a large assortment of homemade cookies.

Active Duty Personnel

The Wilson Thompson American Legion Auxiliary Unit 185 is requesting the names and addresses of all active duty personnel.

Our Auxiliary has been serving our Veterans and their families since March 21, 1921. It is our sincere desire to continue this proud heritage during this time of need.

We are requesting this information so that we might send Christmas packages to our military. The Wilson Thompson American Legion Post 185 Family will be preparing gift boxes for our troops on November 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
