| SOUTH HADLEY Spring Yard Waste pickups for South Hadley are scheduled for Apr. 17-May 12. Everyone will receive two pickups during that time. Use paper bags or open containers only. Brush must be tied in bundles not more than four feet long. Yard waste will be picked up on the same day as your regular recycling and rubbish pickup. Yard waste also may be brought to the compost area year-round on any Wednesday or Saturday during open hours. The Paint Shed will be opening again on Apr. 12 and will close in mid-November. Bring re-usable paint and take re-usable paint away, all for free. If you have un-usable latex paint, you may dry it out by adding kitty litter. The dry waste may then be placed in the trash. Closing House: In order to make oversight easier and more complete, the town of South Hadley Compost and Recycling areas will close from noon-12:45 p.m. Plan your use accordingly. Coming Events: Mattresses can be accepted at the Recycling Center starting May 3-Dec. 1. Household Hazardous Waste Day will be June 10. Pre-registration required.
