Granby Town Clerk makes announcements

DOG LICENSES: All residents who licensed their dogs through the Town Census should have received their dog tags. If you did not receive your dog tag, call the Clerks Office. March and April are the months to license your dogs (Bylaws of the Town of Granby CH XIV). The cost is $6 for spayed or neutered dogs and $15 for others. To avoid a $25 late charge fee, dogs should be licensed by May 1. If you wish, you may license by mail. Include a copy of the rabies vaccination or call the clerks office for verification, a stamped self-addressed envelope, a check made payable to the Town of Granby, and mail to Town Clerk, 250 State St., Granby, MA.

RABIES CLINIC: The Clinic will be held on April 14 behind the Town Hall at the Fire Dept. from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost per animal is $15. Have dogs on a leash and cats in a carrier. Bring your pet's rabies certificate. Dog licensing will also be available at this clinic.

NOMINATION PAPERS: Any person interested in seeking elected office in Granby must take out papers from the Town Clerk no later than March 29 in order to be placed on the May 21 ballot.

THIRD AND FINAL NOTICES ON THE 2007 ANNUAL TOWN CENSUS: Confirmation notices have been mailed out to all voters who did not answer their Town Census, as required by MA General Laws Ch 51, Sec. 4. Therefore, all who do not answer this mailing will be designated as "inactive" on the Granby Voting List. To avoid any future problems with voting, please answer this mailing. If you never received an Annual Census Form, or would like to check on your voting status, call the Town Clerk's office.

WARRANT ARTICLES: The Annual Town Meeting will be held on May 14. The last day to file a private warrant article for Town Meeting is March 21. In order for a private warrant article to appear on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant, a petitioner must acquire ten (10) signatures of registered voters in the town. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Kathy Kelly-Regan at the Granby Town Hall at 467-7178.
