Park announces concert schedule

SOUTH HADLEY The Friends of Buttery Brook Park are pleased to announce the 2007 Summer Concert Series at Buttery Brook Park, 123 Willimansett St., Route 33, South Hadley. The concerts, which are scheduled on Sundays from 6-7:30 p.m. are free and open to the public, and ample free parking is available.

In an ongoing effort to promote the Park and its natural beauty, these free concerts are being sponsored through the generous support of corporate sponsors: Tech Fab Company, Easthampton Savings Bank, Village Eye Care, Peoples Bank, Ryder Funeral Home and TD Banknorth, all of South Hadley.

Hot dogs, beans, chips, soda, popcorn, drinks, and homemade desserts and other goodies can be purchased at the concert. Proceeds help to support the park.

Bring your family, friends, lawn chairs, blankets, have a picnic, and enjoy the concerts:

Aug. 19, South Hadley Community Band

Sponsored by Village Eye Care. These local musicians have played at numerous venues including Wistariahurst Museum, Pines Theater in Look Park, Loomis Village and many events throughout the area.

Aug. 26, Jack Kowal Swing Band

Sponsored by Peoples Bank. Founded by Jack Kowal and Rich Bourguignon, this group has been playing together five years. The band plays both its own arrangements and scores by such notables as the Glenn Miller Band.

Sept. 2, INVASION

Sponsored by Easthampton Savings Bank. New England ? s Premier British Invasion Band formed in 2006 and is dedicated to the music that changed the world. The band plays music by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Lovina Spoonful and many more.

Sept. 9, Black Diamond Blues Band

Sponsored by Ryder Funeral Home. Members of this band have been playing together for five years. The band plays traditional blues by artists such as B.B. King, Muddy Watters, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many more.

Sept. 16, Dan Daniels and Your No Good Buddies.

Sponsored by Tech Fab and TD Banknorth. This four-piece group plays Americana Rock music, a blend of rock, country, blues, and root music. The band was nominated in the Advocate Reader's poll in the Roots Rock category and has recently released its second CD of original music.
