South Hadley announces trash pick up schedules

The new trash and recycling pickup schedules for 2007 are printed and available to residents of South Hadley. They may be picked up in town buildings, such as the library and town offices, water district 1, as well as at the Council on Aging. Other locations in town where schedules are available are the White Wing. In addition, they are printed in mid-December in the Town Reminder. Extra copies of the Town Reminder with the schedule in it are available at the Reminder office.

Christmas trees are being picked up again during the month of January. There is no set schedule for tree pickup. Just put your tree out and leave it at the curbside. You may call the DPW to let us know it's out there, and we will pass the info along to the pickup crews. Christmas trees may also be brought to the Recycling Center any Wednesday or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

And as a reminder, the Martin Luther King holiday on Jan. 15 does not affect any rubbish and recycling pick-ups, which remain on their regular days.

As usual, if anyone has any questions about solid waste and recycling activities, call Jane Southworth, Recycling Coordinator, at the DPW, 538-5033.
