South Hadley Leo Club members had recent installation

SOUTH HADLEY The 26 Charter Members of the South Hadley Leo Club were installed by District Governor David N. Gervais on Jan. 7 at a banquet in their honor at Adelfia's Restaurant in South Hadley.

Also assisting in the installation were Leo Advisory Team Chair Diane Daley, South Hadley Lions Club President Norman Stafford and South Hadley Lions/Leos Liaison Chair Marilyn Ishler.

Following the induction of the Leos the following officers were installed: President Chloe Wojnarowski; Vice President Hannah Buckley; Secretary Abbie Hamlin; Treasurer Justin Kopec and Directors Stacy Counter, Melissa Forni, Brittney Fournier and Jeremy Ricker. The Advisors for the Leo Club are Tina Daponde and Peter Billman-Golemme, both teachers at South Hadley High School.

District Governor Gervais presented a Massachusetts District 33 Lions District Governor banner to Lions President Norman Stafford and Leo President Chloe Wojnarowski.

The Leo Club is sponsored by the South Hadley Lions Club and is the fourth Leo Club chartered in Western Massachusetts. As well as service to the community the Leos are charged with volunteering to help children.

The Leos have held a bake sale at South Hadley High School which raised $85 which was donated to the Fidelco Dog Program. Many Leos volunteered as Elves at Buttery Brook Park's Santa Land and helped the Council on Aging sort, pack and deliver Christmas basket. Future projects planned are to hold a blood drive with the Lions Club and to bring the Walk for Mike, which raises funds for the Michael E. Smith Foundation, back.

The following Leos were inducted: Hannah Buckley, Rachelle Buckley, Lydia Bussiere, Virginia Constant, Stacy Counter, Melissa Forni, Brittney Fournier, Tyler Fritz, Jakki Guenther, Ellie Hauschild, Abbie Hamlin, Jessica Hills, Justin Kopec, Courtney LaBrie, Rebecca Mahoney, Justin Mandeville, Christy Mann, Kathleen O Rourke, Sarah Pettengill, Adrian Pio, Justine Sabbs, Gregory Shute, Kelly Tierney and Brittany Tipton.
