Neighborhood Council announces meetings, classes

SPRINGFIELD There will be a meeting of the Hungry Hill Neighborhood Council on May 19 at 7 p.m. Information on the Springfield Boys Club and a proposal for a new Walgreens at Armory and Carew Streets (across from Our Lady of Hope Church) will be discussed. The meeting is at the Hungry Hill Center, lower level of Our Lady of Hope Church. The Hungry Hill Center's monthly Tuesday luncheon will be May 10 at 11:30 a.m. A representative from Western Mass Electric Company will discuss programs that can benefit seniors. The menu will be corn chowder, seafood salad, three bean salad and pudding. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Center at 733-9411 before May 6. The donation is $2.50 ($1.75 Greater Springfield Senior Services and $.75 Hungry Hill Senior Center).

Nurses from Pedi-Care, Inc. will be at the Center on May 18 by appointment; there is a fee for this service. Appointments can be made by calling the Center at 733-9411. Nurses from Chicopee Visiting Nurse Association will be at the Hungry Hill Center on May 16 from 9-11 a.m. Hemoglobin screening and blood pressure readings will be offered. The low impact aerobic classes for adults at the Center will be on Monday and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Classes which are open to all adults; advance registration is not necessary. Friday line dance classes are offered at no cost from 10-11 a.m.
