Seats available on Spfld. Partners board

SPRINGFIELD There are three seats available for low-income Springfield residents to serve on Springfield Partners for Community Action's Board of Directors. Springfield Partners is the official anti-poverty agency for the city of Springfield. Anyone interested in representing their community, should get nomination papers at 619 State Street before September 9th. Candidates for election to the Board of Directors must reside in the relevant district and must meet income guidelines. Elections will take place on September 16th. Districts 1, 3, and 5 are holding elections this year. Board members serve two-year terms. Board meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month. District 1 consists of Pine Point, portions of McKnight, Boston Road, and East Springfield. District 3 is the South End and Maple High Six Corners, District 5 is the North End of Springfield.

Springfield Partners for Community Action serves low-income residents of the greater Springfield area. The agency operates several programs including Weatherization Assistance, Community Health Advocacy, SERVE New England food distribution, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.
