Citizen calls for support

WEST SPRINGFIELD Susie Davis will go in front of the City Council on Aug. 7, once more with hope that the Council will approve her Impeachment Resolution.

The resolution calls for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney on a series of four charges that are listed on the resolution.

She would like to see the resolution certified to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the United States under the seal of the Town of West Springfield.

The resolution requires a vote from the City Council to allow it on the floor for discussion.

Davis is following a procedure in that petitions from the country at large may be presented by the Speaker of the House according to Clause Three of House Rule XII.

The resolution states, "...That our senators and representatives in the United States Congress be, and are hereby, requested to cause to be instituted in the Congress of the United States proper proceedings for the investigation of the activities of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney, to the end that they may be impeached and removed from such offices; and be it further..."

Davis went in front of the City Council at the previous City Hall meeting and at that time no decision was made.

"For five minutes I talked about the resolution but at that time the council did not respond," said Davis.

Davis seeks feedback by e-mailing her at amelia.grace@yahoo.com.
