Museum seeks military items for collection

WESTFIELD The Edwin Smith Historical Museum, part of the Westfield Athenaeum, is looking for items to add to its collection of military objects.

The museum is very interested in acquiring items from the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Items of particular interest are United States Marine uniforms, Coast Guard uniforms and Special Forces uniforms. The museum is unable to accept weapons.

In addition to the above items, World War II Marines and Coast Guard articles, uch as insignia and uniforms.

The items will be stored in acid free storage boxes and put on display at various times.

If anyone would be interested in donating any items, they can be dropped off at the Library or, Don Wielgus has kindly offered to pick them up. He can be reached at 568-7767.
