WESTFIELD – Residents in Westfield, Southwick and the surrounding hill towns now have a local option for immediate care.

On Dec. 17, Noble Express Care, an urgent care center celebrated its grand opening. The 4,600 square-foot facility, 57 Union St., suite 101, is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Patients of all ages can receive walk-in care for non-life-threatening medical issues, helping to alleviate traffic in the emergency room. Among the center’s features are six exam rooms, a lab area and a digital X-ray room that includes onsite readings.

“It’s about keeping care close to home,” Ron Bryant, president and CEO of Noble Hospital, said. He noted that Noble serves approximately 65,000 people in the Greater Westfield area, many of who are without a primary care physician.

The new care center would enable Noble to continue its relationships with many specialists around the area to provide a variety of service to its patients Bryant said.

Medical Director for Noble Express Care Brian Sutton explained that sometimes patients are in need of immediate attention and cannot wait for an opening in their primary care physician’s schedule. For patients without a primary care doctor, the urgent care center can provide timely treatment and referrals to primary care doctors in the area.

“I’m exited that we have a brand new large, clean clinic space for Westfield and the surrounding areas. Patients don’t have to go over the river,” Sutton said.

Conditions that can be treated at Noble Express include colds and the flu, mild to moderate asthmatic attacks, urinary tract infections, sprains and broken bones, ear infections and more. Sports and pre-employment physicals are also available.

Bryant said, “This is a huge step for Noble,” describing the grand opening as a “tremendous” event.

He cited continuity of care as the most important feature of Noble Express. “Patients will see the same doctor all the time,” Bryant said. From the center, patients will have access to the Noble Hospital system, if needed.

“We want to be the number one urgent care in the valley,” Sutton said. He added that the Noble Express staff is comprised of board certified emergency physicians.
