The Walkin’ the Watershed” program is seeking volunteers to don walking shoes and explore the Westfield river. Volunteers are sent a packet with a training DVD, maps of a mile section and data sheets to record findings. Volunteers are asked report back walk highlights and any possible problems seen, felt or smelt once a year. This program has allowed the organization to to keep track of a nationally recognized treasure that meanders through the towns of Washington, Becket, Chester, Huntington, Windsor, Savoy, Chesterfield, Worthington and Cummington.
