Association announces golf tournament

HAMPDEN The Police Officers Association of Hampden would like to invite local residents to take part in this year's Golf Tournament. the 4th Annual Hampden Police Officer's Association Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 5 at the Hampden Country Club (New owners and newly renovated). Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. with a shot gun start at 1 p.m. Dinner will provided at 6 p.m. with raffle and awards for various winners. In this tournament last year, one of the participants won two cars.

Entry fees are $100 per player, $400 for a foursome. As a bonus for this year, they will reduce one entry fee for any returning golfer by $25 if they have a new additional foursome sign up for the tournament.

The Association will continue to offer tee and green sponsors for $125 where a business would be advertised for that particular hole. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and will go toward the raffle drawings.

Proceeds from this golf tournament have assisted the Association's efforts in supporting the following programs in various municipalities.

In Springfield: Melha Shriners, Toys for Joy. In Hampden: Hampden Lions Club, Hampden Memorial Park Project, Hampden Flood Victims, dinners for families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Wilbraham: Minnechaug Regional High School Scholarship Fund, Hampden & Wilbraham Youth Lacrosse. East Longmeadow: Heritage Park Project, Jaycees Fishing Derby, The Jimmy Fund, National Night Out, N.A.A.R., and many others.

The Police Officers Association of Hampden is looking forward to continued support for these and other programs throughout the area.
