Cultural Council seeks grant applicants, members

HAMPDEN The Hampden Cultural Council is now seeking applications for grants to fund arts, humanities and interpretive sciences projects that will benefit the Hampden community.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council has granted Hampden $2,500 to be used along with monies raised by our local council for fiscal year 2005-2006.

Individuals or organizations may apply for a general support grant projects such as workshops, lectures, exhibitions, festivals, science education and artistic projects or for a PASS grant funds to enable schools and youth groups to take students to cultural performances outside of school.

Applications and detailed guidelines are available at Town Hall Selectmen's Office 625 Main Street. Completed applications must be postmarked by October 17th. For more information or questions, contact HCC Chairperson James A. McEwan at 566-5300.

The HCC is also seeking residents of Hampden to join our cultural council as volunteer members. The term of service is 2 years and involves 5-8 meetings per year, usually in the evening as well as occasional fund raising.
