WILBRAHAM — - At its Jan. 3 meeting, the Board of Selectmen took another step toward a renovation project for the main fire station.

Town Building Inspector and Zoning Enforcement Officer Lance Travalion was appointed the project manager for the proposed renovation and expansion of the fire station, located on Boston Road, by the Selectmen.

Travalion said the proposal was still in its infancy. The next step is to go through a process that includes talking to architects to gauge the projected costs of a project. Once research on cost has been completed, it will be determined whether or not the project will move forward.

The Boston Road fire station has been the headquarters for the Wilbraham Fire Department since it was built in 1952.
