WILBRAHAM Just in time for the holidays, the Wilbraham Library will host a show of paintings by two talented friends, Mickey Encalade and Ruth Berman, both of East Longmeadow. Mickey's pastel landscapes and Ruth's still life paintings complement each other on the walls of the Brooks Room gallery. Encalade's paintings reflect her keen interest in the changing seasons, woods, plants and riverbeds that surround us. Berman's inspiration comes from objects found at yard sales, antique and consignment shops and the variety of fruits and vegetables from local farm stands.

Both artists met by chance at the Hampden Nursery where they both show some of their work during the year. Both are active members of the Tobacco Valley Art Association. They have shown their paintings and won recognition at many gallery shows in the Pioneer and Tobacco Valleys.

This holiday show, that will include both small and larger size paintings, will take place through Dec. 29. To be certain the gallery will be open for viewing at specific times and for directions, it is best to call the library at 596-6141.

A reception, open to the public, will take place on Dec. 10 between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m.
