Selectmen seek town volunteers

WILBRAHAM Selectmen would like to hear from town residents willing to give their time and talents to the work of various town boards and committees.

Positions are open the Commission on Disabilities, Conservation Commission, Finance Committee, Constable, Cultural Council, Historical Commission, Historic District Study Committee, Open Space Committee, and Recreation Commission. In addition, there are vacancies for the elected positions of Cemetery Commissioner and Water Commissioner.

Kevin J. Moriarty, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, would like to hear from people with an interest in being active and involved in some aspect of volunteer town government.

"We are looking for enthusiastic people who can contribute to policy development and service delivery in the specialized area of responsibility for each board or committee," said Moriarty.

Selectmen try to make a good match between an individual's interests and abilities and the needs of town committees.

Individuals wishing to participate on a town board or committee should send a letter about their interest, or a resume, to the Board of Selectmen at the Town Office Building, 240 Springfield Street. Volunteers should be town residents and registered voters.

For more information, residents may consult the Annual Town Report, available at the Town Office Building, which includes reports from the various committees.
