| AGAWAM Every month, the Agawam Junior Women's Club (AJWC) members work to collect various items to recycle, reuse and donate. The Juniors collected, sorted, and donated the following to our schools and libraries: General Mills Box Tops for Education Campbell's Soup Labels for Education egg cartons seed catalogs telephone books coffee cans & containers with lids The Juniors also collected and donated: postage stamps Lithuanian Relief Fund card fronts - St. Jude's Children's Ranch Valentines to veterans at the Holyoke Soldiers Home sporting goods and books for the Barton Center Yoplait Yogurt pink lid caps breast cancer donation cell phones to assist women of domestic abuse DVDs, phone cards, and candy to soldiers at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany canteen coupons for the Holyoke Soldiers Home women veteran residents used towels and blankets for the MSPCA laser ink jet cartridges for recycling can flip tops for The Shriner's Hospital magazines for the Senior Center and local nursing homes The AJWC also supported these causes: Halloween and Easter item gift bags to children in residence at the Children's Study Home collection of peanut butter, jelly, and marshmallow fluff for the Parish Cupboard to commemorate World Food Day "Hope Totes" for the Springfield Rescue Mission blanket making for "Project Linus" and Baystate Medical Center, Pediatric Unit planting at Country Estates Nursing Home donations to Tsunami Relief and Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts donation to Operation Smile collection of school supplies shipped to the Terrabone Parrish Public Schools in Houma, LA The AJWC is always looking for new members to continue their volunteer efforts. Interested women are encouraged to attend a monthly meeting, held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., at the Captain Charles Leonard House, Main Street, Agawam.
