AGAWAM Bingo For Books Program To Be presented By GFWC Agawam Junior Women's Club. B-I-N-G-O! The race to fill a bingo card slated with titles, characters, and settings from popular children's books will be presented June 27 from 6:30-7:30p.m. at The Agawam Public Library Community Room. The program is open to 1st through 4th grade children and is sponsored by the Agawam Junior Women's Club. Books will be awarded as prizes as the club aims to promote literacy by encouraging the love of reading. This event is funded by a Literacy Grant that the AJWC applied for and received through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. This grant promotes the GFWC President's Special Project "Literacy Tutoring from the Heart". From Whoville to Hogwarts the BINGO game itself promises to be a fun way to introduce or reacquaint children with many different characters, settings, and books. Please sign up prior to the event as seating will be limited to 40 participants. Call the Agawam Public Library Children's Department at 789-1550. The Agawam Junior Women's Club seeks to enhance our community through advocacy for children and promotion of literacy. |
