AGAWAM On Jan. 23, Chez Joseph will welcome 30 area restaurants and over 1,000 guests dedicated to ending cancer.

Last year, the annual "Around the World with Chefs for Jimmy" raised over $100,000 for the Jimmy Fund, while allowing guests to treat their pallets to the spicy, sweet and succulent delicacies prepared by Valley restaurants. Since 1990, Chefs for Jimmy has raised approximately $800,000 for the Jimmy Fund, which supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

"While raising vital funds to support the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber, guests will enjoy a fun-filled evening and delicious samplings from the finest area restaurants," Andrew Cohen, Jimmy Fund Council of Western Massachusetts member and Chefs for Jimmy Committee member, said. "We are truly grateful to our participating restaurants and also for the tremendous financial support of area businesses, without which none of this would be possible."

Linda Skole, president of Chez Joseph, explained that this event allows the restaurant and business communities to unite with all in the region in the fight to end cancer.

"The Jimmy Fund plays a significant role in our community," she said. "It is important to support cancer research so that [the Jimmy Fund] can continue to grow and provide the necessary services for [those] in our area."

Tickets for "Around the World with Chefs for Jimmy" are $75 per person and can be purchased by calling the Western New England Jimmy Fund office at (888) 546-6938, by visiting www.jimmyfund.org/chefs-for-jimmy or by e-mailing chefs_forjimmy@dfci.harvard.edu.
