AGAWAM Mayor Richard A. Cohen and the Agawam Law Department staff presented a dedication ceremony in memory of the late Attorney Thomas S. Locke, on Oct. 4 at the Law Department.

"This will always be known as Tom's office," Cohen said to Locke's family members and well wishers.

Locke was the City Solicitor from 1988-2006. Locke, 51, died suddenly on May 7.

"Tom, you always provided me with your counsel and wisdom, but most importantly your friendship. You shared your joyous smile and laugh. You shared your zest for all those things that were important to you," Cohen said before unveiling a plaque with a picture of Locke.

"He had a true passion for public service and the law that put him in a place a lot of us cannot attain," Nancy Locke, Locke's wife, said to Reminder Publications.

The Plaque with Locke's picture hangs at the entrance to the Law Center and reads: "Served the City of Agawam with honor and distinction. His dedication and devotion to his community, friends, and family will keep his memory forever with us."
