Cooper's to host fundraiser for Shriners Hospital

AGAWAM - Cooper's Curtain and Gift Shop of 161 Main St., Agawam, will throw a Family Fun Day on June 13 to raise money for Springfield Shriners Hospital. "Just about everyone you meet has a story about how the Shriners Hospital touched their lives. Cooper's wanted to find a way for all of us to give back, and have some fun while we're at it," Kate Gourde, shopkeeper of Cooper's, stated.

Cooper's has teamed up with local neighboring businesses to plan an event to benefit the Shriners Hospital. The store has on display several enticing opportunity drawing prizes for which raffle tickets are on sale. The grand prize is a gas grill compliments of Rocky's Ace Hardware of Agawam.

Second place is a family fun gift basket presented by Cooper's, featuring merchandise from Vera Bradley, Yankee Candle, Demdaco and more.

Third place is a Vera Bradley getaway set, including a popular duffle bag.

Tickets are available at Cooper's and are $1 each, or six for $5. The drawing will take place June 15. All ticket sales will be collected and donated to the Shriners Hospital.

On June 13 from 1 to 4 p.m., attendees may enjoy face painting by students of the Agawam High School. Popcorn will be offered from a machine donated by Taylor Rental of Agawam. All donations from the popcorn and face painting shall also go directly to Shriners. "Cooper's thanks Rocky's and Taylor Rental for their participation and generosity in helping us with this event," Gourde said. "We are lucky to have such wonderful business neighbors."

Cooper's is open daily and offers ready-made window treatments, home accents and gifts for all occasions. They are one of the largest dealers of Vera Bradley and Brighton Accessories in Western Massachusetts.
