carley@thereminder.comAGAWAM – Spend the day at Crowley’s Sales Barn & Stables, 32 Shoemaker Lane, meeting the staff and greeting the horses.
Crowley’s is hosting an open house on Aug. 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. The free event will feature free hayrides and pony rides. The festivities will culminate with a bonfire. All ages are welcome. Open to the public. For more information, visit
www.crowleyshorses.com.
The ranch is celebrating renovations throughout the property.
Upon return from their winter season in Florida, the Crowleys and their staff have been busy making changes to the property including relocated and updated facilities. For the first time in more than 20 years, its Route 75 entrance is open, providing a second entrance to the stables.
The gathering will highlight the many services Crowley’s offers including trail rides and riding lessons. While this season marked the end of the horse auctions, private sales are still available.
Alice Crowley, wife of Dennis Crowley and co-owner of the business, gave this reporter a personal tour of newly “revamped” property. While part of the land remains for sale, the rest of the property is bustling with activity.
In January,
Reminder Publications reported that the parcels for sale were destined to become an indoor/outdoor sports complex, but that application was withdrawn in April by Cameron Sports Complex LLC.
