Groups host clean-up

AGAWAM Looking for a great opportunity to do something good for Agawam? On April 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Citizen Advocates for Responsible Development (CARD), the Agawam Conservation Commission and the Agawam Beautification Committee will be cleaning up Pynchon Point. This land is located on River Road near the South End Bridge. It is a beautiful area, with a large crescent of beach and good river access. This area is part of the larger River Road Bike Path project. It will be connected to the Bike Path along River Road, and will provide a spot to launch small craft, picnic, and enjoy the riverfront.

The entrance to Pynchon Point is located on River Road across from Michael Anthony's. Parking will be available in Michael Anthony's side parking lot. There will be volunteers organizing people into work groups.

Families, Scout troops, and other organizations are welcome to join in. Refreshments will be provided. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended. A limited supply of yard gloves will be on hand. Trash bags will be provided and a dumpster will be on-site.

Join the three groups in reclaiming this once-attractive riverfront area that will benefit all Agawam residents.
