AGAWAM Barbara Annalee Davis Thorndike Dolls are on exhibit at the Agawam Library for the remainder of May.

Thorndike lived from 1915 to 2002 and was born in Concord, New Hampshire.

Her doll making began as a hobby but soon became trade as it grew into the family business.

Annalee began making the dolls as a child but her hobby really began to take flight in the 1930's. The dolls are said by critics to have,"whimsical styles and mischievous smiles."

In the 1960's Thorndike started to sell her dolls in retail stores in over 40 states and in Canada.

The Annalee Doll Museum is located in Meredith, New Hampshire and is open Memorial Day through Columbus Day. The Museum can be reached at 1-800-433-6557.

The Agawam Public Library located on 750 Cooper Street is open Monday through Thursday 9 to 9; Friday, 10 to 6; and Saturday 9 to 5.
