Granville Harvest Fair returns after 2-year pandemic pause

Date: 10/5/2022

GRANVILLE — After a two-year hiatus the 39th annual Granville Harvest Fair is returning this weekend on the Town Green with vendors, crafts, and food.

The Granville Harvest Fair first began in 1981 as a quilt show, and from there it grew into a larger craft show and became a bigger event in general. This would have been the 41st annual fair, but the coronavirus pandemic resulted in the cancelation of the fair in 2020 and 2021.

The fair will be spread out between the Town Green, the Drum Shop Museum, the Federated Church and Granville Village School, the Granville Public Library, and for the first time, Cooley & Co., the local craft showcaser based on Granby Road.

The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8, noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Karen Carpenter, who is organizing the Town Green portion of the fair, said that the entire fair will be walkable, but that shuttle buses will run to the Cooley & Co. building. There will be options for free parking, Carpenter said, but one can pay for parking closer to the town green.
