LONGMEADOW Three of 19 articles failed at Longmeadow's Special Town Meeting Nov. 28 at Longmeadow High School. Those articles were 15, 16, and 19.

Article 15, according to the warrant, was submitted by petition and the property owner requested to "rezone a parcel of land abutting the north side of Armata's from residential to commercial in order to locate a drive through bank." The Planning Board voted not to recommend this request.

Article 16, was also by petitioners and it sought to place a "non-binding question on the town ballot in the spring so that voters may express their opinions on water fluoridation for the first time since it was passed" 20 years ago.

Article 19 also dealt with fluoridation and requested for the town to vote to petition the General Court for passage of special legislation which would authorize the placement of referendum question on the ballot for the 2007 town officers election in relation to fluoridation.

Petitioners have been placing similar articles on Town Meeting warrants for the last several years to no avail.
