Few contested races in upcoming Palmer election

PALMER — The annual town election for both precincts in town is coming up on Tuesday, June 13.

District 2 and 3 is for Palmer specifically, and Districts 1 and 4 are for Bondsville, Three Rivers and Thorndike.

Voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at two locations: St. Peter and Paul Parish Center at 2267 Main St. in Three Rivers, and at St. Thomas Parish Center at 1076 Thorndike St., Palmer.
If residents wish to vote by mail, this request along with the voter signature must be in to the town clerk by June 1.

One seat is open for District 1 town councilor for a term of three years. Philip Hebert is running uncontested for reelection. There is also one seat open for councilor at large for both districts for a term of three years, with Robert Lavoie running uncontested for reelection.

The Planning Board for both districts has two seats open for a term of three years each, with new candidates Scott Day and Shelby Lamothe running.

The School Committee for both districts has two seats open for a term of three years, with three candidates in this contested race.

Matthew Lovell, a new candidate, is running, along with Bonny Rathbone and Joseph Nompleggi, who are both up for reelection.
